The parish of the Church of the Assumption of Mary and Saint Augustine in Kurozwęki was founded in 1347. From 1487, the church served as both a parish church and a monastery of the Canons Regular of the Lateran. These two dates mark different stages in the town’s ecclesiastical history: the parish was founded first, followed later by the church’s association with the monastery.
The town’s more recent history also has a specific date: Browar Popiel brewery opened in Kurozwęki on 8 December 2018. Together with the older church and palace history, this creates a historical span without confusing the different chapters of the town’s story.
