Discover Podole: cycling routes and time by the water

The red cycling route runs from Opatów via Podole, Jacentów and Sadowie, then back to Opatów, and is 28 kilometres long. It is considered scenic and not particularly difficult. Just under 90 per cent of the route is on tarmac; there are also some unpaved and gravel sections, and a considerable part runs through open countryside. So the high proportion of tarmac does not mean the surface is the same throughout. In hot weather, plan to bring extra water. The black-marked Rowerowy Szlak Architektury Obronnej passes through Podole. Its name refers to defensive architecture, giving it a different thematic focus from the scenic red loop. The cycling routes thus include both a loop with a specified distance and a route named for its theme.
