Rzeszowski: Palaces, nature and regional specialities
Accommodation in Rzeszowski
Historic townscapes, palace complexes, river landscapes and distinctive regional products come together in Rzeszowski County. You can focus your trip on culture, nature or a ride on the narrow-gauge railway. These different experiences can also help you decide which places and themes to prioritise when looking for a holiday apartment for your trip.

Historic places and architecture
In Tyczyn, the market square retains its historic town layout. Several townhouses dating from the 18th century and a former magistrate’s building stand there. The town plan was entered in the heritage register in 1970. Also in Tyczyn is Wodzicki Palace, surrounded by a landscaped park with valuable old trees and natural monuments. The entire palace and park complex was entered in the heritage register in 1968.
Another architectural stop is the Lubomirski Palace complex in Boguchwała: a late Baroque residence dating from the mid-18th century. It includes a geometric-landscape park from the 18th century, laid out in the French style. In Borek Stary is the Dominican monastery complex, a Marian shrine with a late Baroque church. It was built between 1684 and 1726. The three places offer different historical points of interest: a market square, a residence with a park and a monastery complex.
Wodzicki Palace has traditionally opened to visitors in summer. In August 2024, Rzeszowski County organised a first pilot tour, which attracted considerable interest. It was then decided to continue these encounters with history.
River landscapes, woodland and trails
The Wisłok flows through the central part of Rzeszowski County. In the Sandomierz Basin, it leaves behind several river branches and oxbow lakes. Those interested in river landscapes will find a different way to experience the region here than at its palaces and historic townscapes. The “Mójka” nature reserve protects beech and fir woodland complexes, as well as beavers living in wetlands.
One specific hiking destination is the yellow-marked “Jelenia” trail. It leads through ravines and streams to the “Błędny Kamień” natural monument. In Kamień-Podlesie, there is a body of water along the “Zdołga” nature and environmental education trail. Kamień is also home to the “MAŁE ARBORETUM” recreation and education park. These nature and educational attractions differ in the forms described: a marked hiking trail, a body of water along an educational trail, and a recreation and education park.
Sołonka also brings together different themes for visitors. The salt cascade is a popular excursion destination in Rzeszowski County and was opened to visitors in 2010. The Regional Museum in Sołonka houses archaeological, geological, historical and ethnographic collections. Nature and local history thus offer different interests side by side.
A train ride and regional cuisine
The Przeworsk–Dynów narrow-gauge railway line runs through Rzeszowski County. A journey along the line takes about three hours. This makes the railway a distinct experience to include in your travel plans; bear the approximate duration in mind when planning your day. The A4 motorway also runs through the county, and Rzeszów–Jasionka Airport is located within it.
One regional speciality is the Futomski bulwiok from Rzeszowski County. This pastry is filled with potatoes, cheese and plenty of mint. Its recipe has been passed down from generation to generation; in 2007, the bulwiok was added to Poland’s list of regional and traditional products. For travellers who would like to discover regional food culture as well as the landscape and culture, this pastry is a distinctive example of a traditional speciality.
When choosing a holiday apartment, you can therefore consider which aspect of Rzeszowski will shape your trip: historic architecture, trails and nature, the approximately three-hour train ride or regional cuisine. The right priorities can help you focus your search for a place to stay in Rzeszowski County around the experiences you have planned.
