The former building of the Jewish community at plac Mickiewicza 8 served as the highest level of Jewish self-government in Jarosław and dealt with religious, welfare, tax, judicial and educational matters.

The Jewish religious community of Jarosław became independent from the Kahal in Przemyśl in 1774 and, from 1785, included all the surrounding villages.
