History
Procisne was first recorded in writing in 1580 under the name Protheze. This early trace of the name is a tangible cultural reference point for visitors interested in the history of the place.
The ethnographer Oskar Kolberg spent about a month in Procisne in 1884 and documented local customs, clothing, food, construction, agriculture, livestock farming and religious beliefs.
According to the municipal profile, Procisne is a very small settlement with about 30 permanent residents.
