Wooden Architecture and Traces of the Groeling Family
The wooden Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built around the mid-17th century and lies on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesian Voivodeship. It therefore has two historical connections: its own construction history and its place on a regional themed trail. For those interested in culture, it brings together a specific religious building and the subject of wooden architecture.
Right next to the church are a gravestone bearing the names and coat of arms of the Groeling family, and a stone cross. The cross was donated by a member of the family in the late 19th century. Together, they add connections to the Groeling family to the building’s history.
The Pałac and Its Park
Another side of Szałsza can be seen at the Pałac w Szałszy: the building is surrounded by a park in which many trees are designated as natural monuments.
