A canoe trip also leads to Pelplin: the “Wierzycą do Wisły” canoe route runs 35 kilometres from Starogard Gdański to Pelplin. Its total length is 96 kilometres, and it takes about four days. It is recommended for experienced canoeists, as there are obstacles along the way, including weirs, power stations, low bridges, and fallen trees. This route is therefore a considerably longer undertaking than the hiking route described above. The cycling and canoe routes end in Pelplin, while the hike begins there.
A glimpse of the Jarmark Cysterski
At the 24th Jarmark Cysterski on 20 and 21 September 2025, hundreds of stalls selling handicrafts, arts and crafts, and regional specialities filled the grounds of the former Cistercian monastery. The programme at the time also included colourful parades, knightly tournaments, concerts of early music, and a communal feast. The combination of market stalls, music, and performances gives a concrete impression of the cultural experiences associated with this festival. The dates listed refer to that edition.
