Nearby, below Ostrowo and south of Karwia, lies Bielawskie Błota. There, the Nadmorski Landscape Park has laid out an educational walking trail through the two floristic nature reserves “Woskownicy Bielawskiego Błota” and “Moroszka Bielawskiego Błota.” This trail combines walking with a closer look at the named protected areas. It is a separate option for an outing in the area, not another section of the hiking trail by the beach.
A piece of Karwia’s church history
The church in Karwia owes its plot of land to Maria and Ksawery Wittbrodt of Karwia: in 1947, they donated the land for the present-day church. The plot covered 2,754 square metres. After the war, the shell of the building was completed by the end of 1950. This sequence gives local history specific reference points—from the donation of the plot to the stage reached in construction.
The church’s three bells also have names of their own: Edmund, Jan and Antoni. Together with the land donation, they tell different aspects of the church’s story: the support of Karwia residents and a distinctive detail of the building. Its history is therefore more than a date; it brings together people, land and church in this place.
