The Holy Trinity Church: History and Sacred Art

The origins of the Holy Trinity Church are linked to Marian apparitions at the beginning of the 18th century. In 1714, a wooden church was built in Żuromin with a foundation from the Zamoyski family and consecrated by Bishop Ludwik Załuski. The dates offer two historical perspectives: a connection with the apparitions at the start of the century, and the specifically dated construction and consecration of the wooden church.

The church contains Stations of the Cross and Baroque holy water stoups from the 18th century. There are also late Baroque feretories, or ones dating from the late 18th century, bearing images of saints, as well as a monstrance and a reliquary from the 18th century. The furnishings encompass various forms of sacred art: images, objects used in religious practice and Stations of the Cross motifs sit side by side. The town park is named “Park Miejski Burmistrza Józefa Kaźmierskiego” (“Town Park of Mayor Józef Kaźmierski”). This Polish name is another of the names you may encounter while exploring Żuromin.

The blue “Nad Wkrą” cycling route connects Żuromin with Konopaty and passes through scenic areas. It is 11.27 km long and runs through Żuromin.
