Józefosław combines a dedicated recreation area with a local history that can be seen in several places. Green spaces and paths shape the surroundings of Wenus Street; information boards and QR codes provide access to historical topics. The wider Piaseczyński destination also offers a further selection of nature and cultural attractions.

Green space on Wenus Street

Since early August 2025, residents of Józefosław have had access to a recreation area of more than 5,000 m² on Wenus Street. The site includes a playground, walking paths, a cycle path, and a recreation area with benches and loungers. Blue-green infrastructure and numerous plantings of trees, shrubs, and flowers complement the facilities. This brings together pedestrian and cycling routes, seating, and planted areas in one place.

Local history on information boards and in old houses

Information boards about local history are located at three named sites: at the entrance to the park on Ogrodowa Street, by the trellis on Cyraneczki Street, and on Osiedlowa Street near the art gallery. At frequently visited points, the boards display old maps of the town and a brief historical overview. The “Ścieżka historyczna Józefosławia” project was carried out in collaboration with the Józefosław branch of the library and the “Ciąg Dalszy Nastąpi” association.

Information boards have been installed on surviving old houses dating from the time of the first German settlers. The QR codes on the boards link to detailed information about the project and individual historical buildings. This provides two different ways to explore the history: a brief overview with maps and local history, and more in-depth information about individual houses. The boards mentioned are located at several points around the town; their locations do not form a prescribed route.

Nature trails in the wider Piaseczyński destination

The wider Piaseczyński destination also has trails of different lengths and with different points of interest. The 28-kilometre Szlak Południkowy runs through the Chojnowskie Forests: from Piaseczno railway station via Zalesie Dolne, Górki Szymona, Zimne Doły, Zalesie Górne, the Łoś Nature Reserve, and Nowy Prażmów to Prażmów. The 10-kilometre Chojnowski szlak zabytków przyrody passes through the Chojnów, Pilawski Grąd, and Uroczysko Stephana nature reserves. The route lengths and the named destinations offer a concrete comparison between these two trails.

The Chojnowski Landscape Park has seven marked walking trails, as well as a network of educational trails for pedestrians and cyclists. There is a clear rule for visiting its eleven nature reserves: visitors may use only existing paths and marked walking trails. Those who want to focus on nature can consider these trails and designated protected areas as regional highlights.

Further regional themes

Culture and history are also part of the wider Piaseczyński destination. The medieval Gothic Castle of Czersk was built by Duke Janusz the Elder around the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, on the site of an earlier fortification. In Piaseczno, the town hall was built in the neoclassical style in 1823; today it houses the offices of the Muzeum Piaseczna.

In the centre of the spa district of Konstancin-Jeziorna, the main avenue of Park Zdrojowy connects Piłsudskiego Street with the graduation tower. The park has three playgrounds for children and young people, a volleyball court, and outdoor fitness equipment. These are further regional themes, distinct from the local history and green space in Józefosław.

When looking for a holiday apartment, your preferred focus can help guide your search: would you like to focus on Józefosław, its local history, and recreation area, or are you mainly interested in nature and cultural attractions across the wider Piaseczyński destination? Consider which of these themes you want to shape your travel plans.
