Jezioro Wieliszewskie is a remnant of a former meander of the Narew. Wieliszew lies on its embankment, from where you can look out over the water and the meadows below. In Wieliszew, a one-kilometre paved route runs by the Zalew Zegrzyński. It is closed to cars and used by many cyclists and inline skaters. Chapel, Cemetery and Local History

The cemetery is home to a large Neoclassical chapel bearing the inscription „Żona Mężowi“. It was funded in 1834 by Maria Gautier, the wife of the village's and Wieliszew estate's owner at the time. The same cemetery also contains a military cemetery. About 300 Polish soldiers are buried there, mostly members of the 5th Infantry Division, who defended the crossing over the Narew in September 1939. These two sites recall Wieliszew's past in different ways: the chapel points to a 19th-century donation, while the military cemetery commemorates the fighting in September 1939.

The local history stretches back further still. On 20 July 1387, the Bishop of Płock, Ścibor of Radzymin, ordered the construction of a church in Wieliszew on the estates of the Canons Regular of Czerwińsk nad Wisłą in a foundation charter. Midsummer's Eve by Jezioro Wieliszewskie

The festival „Wieliszewskie Wianki“ is also part of the events calendar. It takes place on Midsummer's Eve, known as Sobótka, in Park Świętojański by Jezioro Wieliszewskie. In 2025, it was held on 21 and 22 June; it was announced for the weekend of 20–21 June 2026.
