Art, Church and Memorial Sites
The mural “Panorama of Grójec 1867” was drawn in pencil by Sebastian Krawczak and covers 85 m². Its title, medium and area give the work a distinctive character. There are two other specific details to discover at St. Nicholas Church: it has a wooden bell tower dating from 1889, and inside the church is a baptismal font dated 1482 in which ks. The cemeteries also tell different parts of the town’s history. Fragments of gravestones and a monument to the Jews murdered during the Second World War have been preserved in the Jewish cemetery. The historic narrow-gauge railway station itself is a separate site: the former station underwent extensive revitalisation in 2024–2025 and was converted into a branch of the Grójecki Ośrodek Kultury, with cultural and leisure facilities. For visitors interested in local and transport history, Grójec therefore offers both a protected station building and a former station with a new cultural function.
The Grójecki Ośrodek Kultury is also the main organiser of the annual Święto Kwitnących Jabłoni (Apple Blossom Festival). The festival is another cultural highlight in Grójec. If you are planning your trip for a particular time, you can take the occasion into account; however, the fact that it is held annually does not in itself indicate a specific event date.
Trails and Green Spaces in Town
For a longer outing, the 17 km black trail to Grójec passes through Jeziorka, Grójec and Kośmin. It also serves as a connecting route to the Modrzewina Nature Reserve. Its length and the places it passes through can help you decide whether to make it a separate excursion. Further afield in the region, the 77.8 km red Kraina Jeziorki cycling route also runs through Grójec Municipality. Nature reserves are also located within the municipality.
The revitalised city park is a green space for seniors, families with children, young people, athletes and people with dogs.
