It was established on 28 September 2007 and covers 302.48 hectares. Its purpose is to protect the landscape’s scenic and aesthetic values. So Murzynowo is notable not only for its location on the Warta, but also for a landscape area that is explicitly protected.

Among the complex’s striking features are several dozen trees of monumental proportions. These trees give the nature theme a tangible focus: as well as the scale of the protected area, individual impressive trees help define its character.
