Świdnik County lies on the Lublin Upland and almost entirely within the Świdnik Plateau and the Giełczew Elevation. The Giełczew River flows through a large part of the area. Its three main tributaries are the Radomirka, Sierotka and Giełczewka. These landscape features offer different starting points for planning your holiday: you can explore the river and upland or seek out protected natural areas.
In the north of Trawniki Municipality are areas of Nadwieprzański Landscape Park. The floristic nature reserve “Uroczysko Jezioro” is located there, and is home to many rare and protected plant and animal species, including the European pond turtle. In Rybczewice Municipality, Krzczonowski Landscape Park covers nearly half the municipality because of its particularly valuable natural environment. Both nature areas offer specific destinations for travellers who want to make nature and the landscape central to their stay.

The hiking route “Przez włości Koźmianów do kozickiego dworu” runs from Świdnik via Wierzchowiska, Kawęczyn and Bystrzejowice to Kozice Dolne. It is about 20 km long; the stated duration is 3–4 hours. Its length and estimated time make it a clearly defined option for planning your day. If you prefer cycling, county-published cycling routes run through all the municipalities of Świdnik County. They offer a way to discover nature, cultural heritage, and historic and religious sites.

Manor Houses, Parks and Churches
The Gardzienice I palace and park complex combines a long history with a cultural function today: the complex dates from the early 17th century, was expanded and redesigned, and is now home to the “Gardzienice” Centre for Theatre Practices. In Piaski stand the late Baroque–Classicist ruins of a Calvinist church, built between 1783 and 1835. The manor house and park complex in Wierzchowiska includes a brick palace dating from around 1850 and the remains of a park laid out in the 19th century, with a pond.
Religious buildings also reflect different periods and interiors. The church complex in Częstoborowice dates from the late 18th century and stands on a high embankment. It includes a Marian sanctuary dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, with Baroque furnishings and an image of Our Lady of Victory. The late Baroque parish church of Saint Stanislaus in Biskupice was built between 1712 and 1727; it preserves Baroque and late Baroque furnishings.
In Mełgiew, the present-day Neo-Gothic church dates from 1906–1910. It contains furnishings from the 18th-century church that stood there before it. The complex in Stryjno includes a manor house and a park, both built or laid out in the second half of the 18th century. In Świdnik itself, the wooden “Grażyna” villa dates to the years 1914–1915, when it was built. Together, these places do not represent a single architectural style, but offer reasons to include different periods and designs in your travel plans.
