Nature and Activities at ZOOM NATURY Recreation Park
ZOOM NATURY Recreation Park covers more than 10 hectares. Its attractions include the Park Linowy rope park, with three routes described in different levels of difficulty. The green route runs at a height of 3 to 8 metres and has 14 obstacles. The blue route has 16 obstacles. The red route is described as the most difficult: it runs at a height of 8 to 12 metres and has 17 obstacles. If you include the rope park in your day's plans, you can use these details to take your preference for height and number of obstacles into account.
Younger visitors can enjoy Park Kreatywny, with inflatable attractions, trampolines, a sandpit and foam elements. The activities are listed for children aged 2 to 13. Group games are also part of the leisure programme: Laser Tag is played with infrared beams, while Archer Tag is a team game using bows and arrows with foam tips. The Exit Room includes two rooms, “Crazy 80s” and “The Enchanted Cellar”. At the “Exotic Animals” workshop, animators introduce visitors to live animals. The options range from climbing obstacles and active games to a themed workshop.
For a quieter nature experience, the natural spring area of Janowskie Stoki is a natural monument. It is located in the centre of Janów Lubelski and is associated with local customs. The natural monument and the recreation park represent different sides of a stay: a spring area with local significance on the one hand, and a large complex with specific games and activities on the other.
Market Square, Museums and Regional History
The Rynek Starego Miasta (Old Town Market Square) was laid out according to a Renaissance plan inspired by the idea of the ideal city, and based on Zamość's urban layout. Four fountains in the square symbolise Janów's traditional crafts. The market square offers an introduction to the city's design and part of its craft tradition. Indoor and outdoor exhibitions at the Regional Museum in Janów Lubelski present the historical and cultural heritage of the Janów region, the Lublin region and Poland. The museum also offers archaeology and ethnography workshops, outdoor games and workshops with craftspeople.
Another museum visit focuses on photography: the Photography Museum in Janów Lubelski was registered in 2014. It has three exhibition rooms, a darkroom and a museum gallery. On the outskirts of the city, next to the Forestry Administration headquarters, there is also an open-air museum of the Forest Narrow-Gauge Railway. The railway's history extends beyond Janów into the Janów Forests: until 1952, it connected Lipa with Biłgoraj, running through the entire forest complex. A remaining section in the Janów Forests was used until 1984, when railway operations there ended.
Marian Shrine and Church Art
The Marian shrine comprises a church and a Dominican monastery built between 1694 and 1720, funded by the Zamoyski family. The shrine includes the Chapel of the Apparition, which is frequently visited by pilgrims and tourists. It houses a 17th-century statue of the Virgin Mary and Child, with a spring rising beneath the statue. The Dominican Church of St John the Baptist retains its Baroque character. Notable features include Rococo altars and a Rococo pulpit, a 19-stop organ, and a baptismal font dating from 1870.
When choosing a holiday apartment in Janów, the focus of your stay may be a deciding factor: the recreation park offers several specific activities, while the market square, museums and Marian shrine appeal to different interests. If you are travelling with children, you can take the age range for Park Kreatywny and the different rope-park routes into account when planning. Culture enthusiasts will find a variety of points of interest in the cityscape, exhibitions and shrine.
