Landscape and nature
The municipality in which Niedrzwica Duża is located lies south of Lublin, where the Bełżyce Plain and the Urzędów Hills meet. Its eastern part borders the Czerniejów Landscape Protection Area.
The Nędznica is associated with grayling, trout and brook lampreys; beaver activity has also been recorded in the wider river basin within the municipality.
Culture and history
The “Doliną Nędznicy” cycling route includes the ruins of the Dłuski manor house as well as other historic sites in the municipality. The ruins are described as the first historic site encountered on the route in Niedrzwica Duża; the remains of a park complex are also included.
Direct references to Niedrzwica Duża as a village date back to the early 15th century.
Transport
Niedrzwica Duża has a railway station on railway line 68, which connects Lublin and Przeworsk; the station was built in 1915.
Cycling
The 30-km-long “Doliną Nędznicy” cycling route runs through the municipality along the Nędznica and passes through Niedrzwica Duża.
