Town History and Landmarks

Boguszów-Gorce has three railway stations—Boguszów-Gorce, Boguszów-Gorce Wschód and Boguszów-Gorce Zachód—on the Wrocław–Jelenia Góra line. There is also the Boguszów-Gorce Dzikowiec stop on line 291 to Adršpach. As rail connections and timetables can change, check the latest times before you travel.

Boguszów-Gorce Town Hall was entered in the register of monuments in 1976 and is the seat of the town administration. A station on the International St. Adalbert Way was ceremonially opened at Plac Odrodzenia in 2023. Since 2001, the Way of the Cross of Mining Hardship has led from Boguszów along a tourist route to the Millennium Cross. Its 14 Stations are made of granite slabs. The station in the square and the slabs along the Way of the Cross represent two different forms of religious landmark.

Viewpoints and Mountain Destinations

The OSR Dzikowiec complex includes a service building with a restaurant and a 20-metre observation tower at the mountain railway station. The observation tower on Dzikowiec, which opened in 2025, is 38.5 metres high, with its platform at a height of 32.5 metres. It is open year-round. In winter, watch out for icy conditions; the tower must not be entered in adverse weather, such as strong winds. Check local notices before your visit.

Another viewpoint is the headframe at Szyb Witold, which now serves as an observation tower. A total of 117 steps lead to the top. Comparing the towers reveals different points of reference: for Dzikowiec, the height of the structure and the platform height are given, while for Szyb Witold, the number of steps to the viewpoint is specified.

Nearby, Dzikowiec Wielki lies about 3.4 kilometres south of the town centre. In summer, the mountain is a destination for hiking and cycling; downhill biking and paragliding are also practised there. In winter, there is a ski slope for experienced skiers as well as beginners. Also nearby, the Hochbergs had a stone observation tower built on Chełmiec in 1887–1888. It is 22 metres high and designed to look like a ruin, with an inn and mountain hut.

Routes in the Municipality

The 50-kilometre Jubilee Trail is a circular route in the surrounding municipality. You can walk it in either direction and start and finish at any point. It passes through Mniszek, Chełmiec and Dzikowiec, as well as all the districts of Boguszów-Gorce. The flexibility to choose your starting and finishing points is a distinctive planning feature of this municipal route; the named peaks and districts also give you an idea of its course.

When looking for a holiday apartment or holiday home in Boguszów-Gorce, your preferred focus is a good starting point. Would you like your stay to centre mainly on the town hall and landmarks, or are you especially interested in observation towers and seasonal activities at Dzikowiec? Compare the specific location of an accommodation with your plans. That way, your choice reflects the experiences you want to include, rather than just the type of accommodation.
