Aleksandrów Łódzki can be explored through its squares, buildings, and range of leisure activities. Plac Kościuszki was laid out as a central public square in 1815, when the settlement was founded. The town hall was built in 1824 on the south side of the market square. These historic landmarks offer different perspectives on the town's early development: the creation of a central public space and the construction of a civic building in the settlement's early years. If you are travelling with your family and enjoy learning about history at specific places rather than just through dates, they provide a vivid introduction.

Church architecture and the Jewish cemetery

On the west side of Plac Kościuszki, at the corner of Łęczycka Street, stands the Church of St. Stanislaus Kostka. It was built by the local Evangelical congregation in 1827–1828. The neoclassical building has a rectangular floor plan. The Evangelical Church complex in Aleksandrów Łódzki also includes the rectory. Another religious landmark is the Jewish cemetery, established in 1822 on the northwestern edge of town, at the junction of today's Górna and Wąska streets. The church and cemetery offer different ways to explore the town's religious history; their locations and dates of origin are clearly identified.

The town's architectural history

The town weigh house is also one of the older buildings: it was built in the neoclassical style in the 1820s. A different approach to historic buildings can be seen in the present-day Jatki Miejskie, the town's butcher and baker stalls. The building is a reconstruction from the last decade of the 20th century. The two examples therefore differ both in date and in their architectural status. Together with the information about the town hall and square, they offer a picture of the town in which early building history and later reconstruction can be considered separately.

Park, swimming pool, and trails

There are other places to consider if you want your stay to include leisure activities as well as local history. The town park is located at Plac Tadeusza Kościuszki. The municipal swimming pool, “OLIMPIJCZYK,” is at 5 Bankowa Street. If you enjoy walking or cycling, you can also consider the combined pedestrian and cycle path: it starts in the town centre and leads to the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre. The Łódzki Szlak Konny horse-riding trail also passes through Aleksandrów Łódzki. These options vary, from parks and swimming to walking, cycling, and riding trails, offering different ways to shape your stay.

When looking for a holiday apartment, you can use your travel plans as a guide; one destination alone does not automatically determine the best location for your accommodation. For tourist information, an information point was located in the J. Machulski Library.

For further orientation, you can also explore Grunwald, Rąbień, Lućmierz-Las, Skórka, Głowno, Sokolniki, Ozorków, and Sokolniki-Parcela.
