The second green cycling route leads from Konopnica via Ostrówek, Czarnożyły and Biała to Skomlin. This route is 74.5 kilometres long. The two options can be distinguished by their length and course: one is the 43.1-kilometre loop around Konopnica, the other the longer connection to Skomlin. If you include the cycling routes in your travel plans, you can first decide which type of route better suits your preferred itinerary. The named places give the longer route a specific geographical sequence, without requiring you to assume any additional stops.
Church, palace and watermill
The parish church in Konopnica features early Baroque architecture and was completed in 1642. Its construction date and style offer two distinct points of interest for anyone interested in historic religious architecture. The palace represents a later period: it was built in the first half of the 19th century to a design by architect Henryk Markoni, in the Romantic Gothic style. After its renovation, it opened as the “Dom Pracy Twórczej” of the Łódź University of Technology.
The watermill is also part of the town’s history. The present-day mill was built in the first decade of the 20th century. The 19th-century manor park adds to these historic sites with an area of 2.60 hectares; it is considered historic. The church, palace, mill and park each represent their own architectural and historical stories. The Warta and Zamczysko
The town’s location on the Warta shapes its geographical setting. Zamczysko lies at the edge of the escarpment on the eastern bank of the Warta.
