Market Square, Museum and Rose Festival
The Łask Old Town includes the redesigned market square. The Muzeum Historii Łasku (Łask History Museum) is located in a historic townhouse on the square. It features permanent exhibitions on the history of Łask on the Grabia River, as well as temporary exhibitions whose subjects may vary. If you are particularly interested in a temporary exhibition, check what is currently on offer before your visit.
The Rose Festival was first held in 2013, was well received and developed into a recurring event. If you would like to plan your trip around the festival, check the dates and programme for that edition.
In June 2025, QR-code signs at selected locations in Łask allowed visitors to use their smartphones to listen to stories about the history of each place. This offered another way to explore the history of individual places, alongside the market square and museum.
Kolumna and routes through Łask
The Kolumna district draws on the garden city movement, which was popular around the turn of the 20th century, and features original wooden architecture. This adds a distinct architectural dimension to the Old Town: in Łask, the history surrounding the market square and Kolumna’s garden city heritage offer two different themes.
Three of the four blue-marked sections of the Szlaki Ziemi Sieradzkiej (Sieradz Land Trails) pass through Łask. Check current local route conditions before setting out. The tourist information office in Łask also provides information about local attractions and cultural events, walking and cycling routes, and the museum and leisure options in the town and its surroundings. For up-to-date information about these offerings, you can enquire locally.
Zajączek Beach and seasonal activities
The municipal “Zajączek” beach is located at a reservoir on the Grabia and Pisia rivers. The body of water covers around two hectares and has a small island in the middle. The north shore is used for fishing; on the opposite shore there is a designated, lifeguarded bathing area and a beach. Bathing conditions can vary by season. Check the current water quality before swimming.
During the summer holidays, kayaks and smaller sports and leisure equipment are available to rent at the beach. As rentals are seasonal, it is best to check availability before travelling.
Planning your travel dates and accommodation
When choosing your travel dates, it helps to keep in mind the difference between these activities: rentals at the beach are available during the summer holidays, while the Rose Festival has become a recurring event. Be sure to check the dates for a specific edition. If you want to combine culture with time by the water, you can compare these dates with your travel period before looking for a suitable holiday apartment in Łask.
