Castle and Park Complex and Remembrance

The castle and park complex in Jaszczurowa is of significant historical value to the Nadskawie region. Its architecture and landscape form a high-quality composition; surviving design features characterize an English landscape park. The complex is privately owned, can only be viewed from the outside and access is restricted. Plan your visit around viewing it from the outside.

Another cultural point of interest is the memorial room dedicated to the writer Janina Barbara Górkiewiczowa. It was established in 2007 and is located in the primary school in Jaszczurowa. This literary memorial site adds a different dimension to the picture of the area than the castle and park complex.

Boat Trips and Rentals on Lake Mucharskie

Sightseeing trips on Lake Mucharskie start and end at Jaszczurowa harbor. The 45-minute round trips operate on the “Róża Wiatrów” ship or the “Szafir” gondola. The 45-minute duration provides a specific time frame. As seasonal timetables may change, check the current schedule before your trip.

Routes to Leskowiec and Nearby Summits

The unmarked approach to Leskowiec (922 m) begins at the last PKS bus stop, Jaszczurowa (Pętla), follows a gravel road to the Dudówka settlement and then continues along the Jaszczurówka stream. Take the lack of trail markings into account when planning your route.

Three hiking trails near Lake Mucharskie lead to summits in the Beskid Makowski and Beskid Mały ranges. The listed destinations in the Beskid Makowski are Jaroszowicka Góra (541 m), Starowidz (534 m) and Chełm (603 m); in the Beskid Mały, they are Żmijowa (595 m), Gołuszkowa Góra (715 m) and Magurka Ponikiewska (790 m). The summit elevations allow for a direct comparison: Starowidz is the lowest at 534 m, while Magurka Ponikiewska is the highest at 790 m; Leskowiec reaches 922 m.
