Church architecture and memorial sites
The parish Church of the Most Holy Trinity is a stone Baroque building. Its massive four-sided tower forms an extension of the nave. Next to the church stands the Freedom Oak. Young people planted it in 1923 to commemorate the regaining of Poland’s independence. An obelisk in Bienkówka was erected in 2001 in memory of the victims of the Second World War from Bienkówka. The two memorials refer to different historical themes: the oak is dedicated to Polish independence, and the obelisk to the village’s war victims.
A three-storey stone chapel dating from 1876 is also among Bienkówka’s historic buildings. The church, chapel and memorials offer different ways to explore local history through architecture, church construction and public remembrance.
