Monastery Architecture and Town History
The Poor Clares’ monastery includes the Gothic Church of the Holy Trinity and Saint Clare. Its elongated nave is divided into five aisles, while the choir is short and has two bays. Since 2009, the Stary Sącz Town Office has held the two-day Starosądecki Jarmark Rzemiosła towards the end of August. During celebrations honouring the patron saint of Stary Sącz, the Market Square becomes a knights’ camp for a day in July, with period music, craft stalls and food.
