Kluszkowce between lake, cultural heritage and nature
Accommodation in Kluszkowce
Kluszkowce combines its location on Lake Czorsztyńskie with distinctive cultural sites and trails through nature. The peaks of the surrounding Pieniny and Gorce ranges are reflected in the lake. Other highlights include the historic architecture of the Osada Turystyczna Czorsztyn, a nature trail through a gorge, and activities centred on water and movement. If you are looking for a holiday destination where the landscape and a range of interests for outings play a part, Kluszkowce offers several concrete starting points.

Lake and mountain scenery
Kluszkowce lies in the valley of the Kluszkowianka stream, on the southwestern slopes of Lubań, at an elevation of 530 to 600 m. The village is also situated on Lake Czorsztyńskie. Reflections of the peaks of the surrounding Pieniny and Gorce ranges make the lake a defining feature of the landscape. When choosing your destination, you can therefore consider whether you would most like to explore the lakeside scenery, nature trails or the village’s cultural highlights.
Historic architecture and local traditions
The Osada Turystyczna Czorsztyn on the Stylchyn Peninsula is an open-air tourist complex with 31 architectural structures. These include 9 historic wooden guesthouses and villas, 11 rural farmhouses and outbuildings, and 11 stone cellars with wooden upper structures. The different building types give visitors a clear focus: the architecture of the complex takes centre stage, from wooden homes to stone cellars with their wooden upper structures.
Another place with historical significance is the Wąwóz Papieski. The gorge commemorates a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Wojtyła on 9 July 1978 in a meadow in front of its entrance. It took place during the spiritual retreat of the Światło–Życie movement. An educational nature trail also runs through the gorge, following the route of an old andesite quarry. This allows you to combine a walk in nature with the historical occasion commemorated by the gorge’s name.
The Pieniński Wypas Kulturowy has been held in Kluszkowce at least three times and celebrates the end of the grazing season. The event focuses on traditions, music and regional flavours. Oscypek and other regional cheese specialities are sold at a bacówka beside the marina of the Podhalańskie Towarzystwo Żeglarskie. Regional food culture is thus associated both with a local sales outlet and with the festival.
Trails and activities
For a longer outing, one option is the hiking trail from the Osada Turystyczna Czorsztyn via Jaworzyny Ochotnickie to Lubań: it is 8.7 km long and takes around 3 hours and 15 minutes. When planning your day, take both the stated distance and the approximate duration into account. The Modrzewie nature and forest educational trail offers a different experience of nature. It features viewing terraces, shelters and maps showing the route and the reserve’s natural environment. There are also access points on Leśna and Modrzewiowa Streets in Kluszkowce.
Góra Wdżar offers a different kind of activity: its 1,000 m roller-coaster-style alpine coaster is open in summer. If you would rather include a water activity in your day, AQUALAND water station on Lake Czorsztyńskie has a beach and rents out pedal boats, boats and kayaks. The marina of the Podhalańskie Towarzystwo Żeglarskie in Kluszkowce has floating piers where sailing and motorboats can moor.
Choosing Kluszkowce as a holiday destination
You can choose where to stay based on the experiences that matter to you: the lakeside scenery and water activities, the open-air architectural complex, the nature trail or a longer hike to Lubań each offer a different focus. When looking for a holiday apartment in Kluszkowce, this distinction is more useful than a single, general picture of the village as a holiday destination. Consider whether you would rather spend your time exploring culture and local traditions, following nature trails or taking part in activities on the lake.
