Chyżne is part of a cross-border cycling tourism project connecting the Polish-Slovak border area. In the Polish investment section, a road and cycling route between Chyżne, Głodówka and the Polish-Slovak state border is planned.
Through the Chyżne–Trstená border crossing, Chyżne has a road connection oriented towards Slovakia and lies on the E77 corridor, which is described as a replacement for National Road 7.
History
The documented history of Chyżne dates back to 1614; at that time, the settlement was mentioned under the name Chyshno. A wooden church associated with Saint Anne was acquired in 1770 or 1777 and later demolished in the early 20th century.
