Polanowo and the routes around Lake Powidzkie

Polanowo combines several cycling and walking routes with an unusual archaeological feature: the submerged remains of a prehistoric settlement have been located here. The landscape around Lake Powidzkie also has its own character. Polanowo is therefore part of a route that includes several stops between the start and the return to Słupca. Another option is the 35-kilometre “Dookoła Jeziora Powidzkiego” cycling route. This is distinct from the blue cycling trail around Lake Powidzkie, which is also 35.8 kilometres long. Walking trails and landscape

In the Lake Powidzkie area, the green walking trail passes through Mieczownica, Kochowo, Polanowo, Rzymachowo and Powidz. One section runs along the southwestern part of the lake. When planning a walk, it is also worth noting the trail markings: some have faded and need to be renewed.

Another option is the eight-kilometre “Wśród Polanowskich Pól” route, designated for both walking and cycling. It follows the road to Polanowo and Rudunek. Around Polanowo, calcareous fens, meadows, reed beds and wooded areas have developed on lacustrine chalk deposits by Lake Powidzkie.
