Jarocin can be discovered through a wide variety of details: a town hall with arcade-like cloisters, a regional museum featuring topics from the history and culture of the Jarocin region, connections to Polish rock history and a landscape park. Exploring independently and a longer hiking route are also possible focal points. When planning your trip, you can consider which experiences should shape your stay.

Town Hall and Museum Sites

Jarocin Town Hall was built between 1799 and 1804 on the site of earlier buildings dating from the 14th to the 18th centuries. Its ground floor features arcade-like cloisters supported by massive pillars. This architectural style gives the town hall a distinctive appearance and offers a specific reason to pay attention to the architecture during your stay in the town.

The Regional Museum is located in the Pałac Radolińskich. Its permanent exhibition is devoted to the history, culture and artistic traditions of the Jarocin region. If you would like to include a range of cultural topics in your itinerary, the museum offers an introduction that goes beyond a single event or period. The Regional Museum also houses Strefa Odkrywania Wyobraźni i Aktywności, or SOWA for short. It encourages learning through independent exploration and experimentation. For families who enjoy discovering and trying things out together, this approach can be a focus in its own right. Skarbczyk is now a branch of the Regional Museum.

Rock Connections and Cultural Projects

Jarocin’s festival tradition is reflected in the Pomnik Glana. Spichlerz Polskiego Rocka also adds a cultural dimension: it is a venue for a range of cultural and educational projects. It is associated with the project “Z kontrkultury w popkulturę”, which has left large-scale murals in Jarocin connected to the history of Polish rock. The murals thus take a different form from a museum exhibition and refer to the town’s rock history.

Young bands and established artists can perform at the Klubcafé Spichlerz. If you would like to make the murals the focus of an exploration, you can take a cycling tour along the murals scattered across the town after contacting representatives of Stowarzyszenia RoweLOVE Jarocin. The rock connections can provide a focus in their own right when planning your trip.

Landscape Park and Hiking Trail

Park Radolińskich is a landscape park of approximately 30 hectares, laid out between 1840 and 1850. Its distinctive features include one of Europe’s longest hornbeam avenues and numerous trees considered monuments. If you would like to give nature and culture different levels of emphasis on your holiday, the park offers a landscape focus alongside the town hall, museum and rock history.

The green hiking trail is 24.5 km long. It leads from the railway station via the market square and Pałac Radolińskich to the town park. The route description therefore includes several named stops and ends in the town park; you can take the distance into account when planning your day. Jarocin railway station is located at ul. Dworcowa 1 and is also the starting point for this route.
