The Rakkevik småbåthavn marina is also near Vear, close to Sandodden.

Ski trail, sports hall and sports facilities

Vear has a floodlit ski trail, which the municipality of Tønsberg is responsible for grooming. Grooming is seasonal and may not take place when there is little snow. Vearhallen is listed as the ski trail’s parking area; since parking information can change depending on operations, check the latest trail and parking updates before a winter visit.

The Vearhallen multi-purpose hall has an indoor climbing wall and a handball court. Its stands have seating for about 300 people. Vear IF’s sports facilities include football pitches for 11-a-side and seven-a-side teams, as well as a beach volleyball court. There is also a gravel training pitch and a clubhouse with changing rooms. Together, the hall and facilities illustrate different aspects of local sports, from indoor sports to outdoor pitches.

There are other options to consider beyond local bathing and sports destinations: Vestfold Golfbane is in the area around Vear. Fishing at Akersvannet is another activity nearby.
