The Tresfjord Museum officially opened in 1949. The galeas Søblomsten tells another chapter in the region’s boatbuilding history. Master shipbuilder Lars Hammeraas built it in Vestnes, Møre og Romsdal, in 1864. Today, Søblomsten is part of Norway’s protected fleet and belongs to the Båtbyggarmuseet in Vestnes; it is being restored at Kataholmen in Vestnes. The museum led the restoration. The Trondhjemske postvei runs from Amdam over Ørskogfjellet and down to the centre of Vestnes.
