One specific route goes from Trøenget to Langsfjellhogna: it passes through old grazing and hayfield landscapes up to the tree line. From the summit, the view extends into Forollhogna National Park and across the valley.
Another route leads from the seter settlement of Såttåhaugen to the summit of Forollhogna. Active seter farming, with animals grazing in the pastures, takes place there. The Os day-trip cabin is located on Gruvåsen in Dalsbygda. From the car park, a well-marked trail of about 1 km leads to the cabin. The excursions described here therefore offer different options: you can choose a short, marked trail, a route through historic working landscapes or a summit destination.
Cultural History in Dalsbygda and Narjordet
On Gruvåsen in Dalsbygda, the history of farming and copper mining is presented. Excavated farmsteads, mine entrances and other cultural heritage sites reveal how the area was used in the past. Restored stone walls and information boards provide further context. Both the day-trip cabin and the cultural heritage sites are on Gruvåsen, so you can combine an outing there with an interest in the landscape and its history.
Oddentunet in Narjordet is a well-preserved, protected farmstead in its original location. During the summer season, visitors can explore the site on historical guided tours. The visitor centre also has an exhibition on the history of Odden and Narjordet. Also near Narjordet, at Røbekken on the road to Narbuvoll, is the restored Kverna ved Narjordet. The village mill dates from the 1850s.
Utistuvollen is a protected 19th-century seter farmstead and a family-friendly historical excursion destination along the Snudda River in Dalsbygda. Fosskleiva on the Vangrøfta River is an easily accessible and interesting excursion destination.
