Dirkshorn combines waterways, a surviving body of water and village architectural history. It lies amid extensive agricultural fields. Most of the lakes that once surrounded Dirkshorn were drained; one lake remains. It is possible to surf on the surviving lake. Dirkshorn thus brings together the history of its former lake landscape with a present-day opportunity for water sports.

Routes along dikes, canals and meadows
The four routes show how differently Dirkshorn can be explored on foot. The blue Meerroute is a circular route around the Meertje van Dirkshorn and leads along shell paths and grassy dikes. The red Groenveldroute runs mostly across grass towards the hamlet of Groenveld and crosses the western dike of the Voorpolder. After the Meertje van Dirkshorn, the purple Woudmeerroute heads south along the Woudmeerpad beside the Ring Canal of Waarland. The green Galgenkaderoute runs along the Groenvelderweg between the golf courses. In Dirkshorn, the surfaces along parts of the Meerroute can influence the day's planning at the Meertje. The four paths therefore lead along water, across grass and dikes, or between golf courses; the Woudmeerroute also runs along the Ring Canal of Waarland.
At TOP Dirkshorn, visitors can park their car and start a cycling tour from there. This means that, in addition to the walking routes, Dirkshorn can also be explored by bicycle.
Golf with a sporting and ecological profile
Golfbaan Dirkshorn is an 18-hole course with a par of 72 covering an area of 55 hectares. The facility has NGF A status and is suitable for club and national competitions. Golfbaan Dirkshorn is laid out and maintained according to the standards of the environmental label “GEO/Committed to Green”, awarded since 2011.
Village church with a history
The Nederlands Hervormde Kerk in Dirkshorn was built in 1868 by the architect B. Sleister in the eclectic style. Inside, there is a pulpit originally dating from the 17th century, as well as an organ from 1870. From a cultural and architectural-historical perspective, the church is a well-preserved example of a Protestant village church from the second half of the 19th century built in the eclectic style. Its furnishings date from the 17th to the 19th century.
Swimming, fishing and a break by the pond
The De Veersloot swimming pool in Dirkshorn is an outdoor pool with two heated pools. BurgerFarm has three fishing ponds suitable for anglers of all experience levels. While fishing, guests can get a snack and a drink at BurgerFarm's Eetcafé. The two options focus on different activities: De Veersloot is for swimming, while BurgerFarm is for fishing and taking a break at the Eetcafé.
