Pantiere: Villa Da Porto, Lake Montorso and Sentiero Natura
Villa Da Porto: Construction period and scale
Pantiere combines Venetian architecture, ecclesiastical history and green landscapes. One landmark is Villa Da Porto. It was built between 1662 and 1724 and is one of the most extensive complexes among the Venetian villas. There is also an availability calendar for Villa Da Porto for 2026, as well as a formal procedure for submitting a request to use it.
Traces on Colle della Fratta
On Colle della Fratta, only the old Vecchia Torre Campanaria bell tower remains of the former 13th-century parish church. A historic complex was built on Colle Fratta between the 10th and 12th centuries.
Churches and sacred art
The parish church Chiesa Parrocchiale di S. Biagio was built between 1840 and 1854 to a design by architect Luigi De Boni. It has a bell tower approximately 40 metres high, whose construction was completed in 1872. The Chiesetta di San Marcello was built by the local community in the 15th or 16th century and houses a 17th-century wooden statue of Saint Marcellus. For those interested in culture, these three buildings offer different historical points of interest.
Nature between lake and trail
Lake Montorso is a small lake surrounded by greenery. For an excursion focused on nature, it offers opportunities for walks and relaxation. The Sentiero Natura di Montorso Vicentino runs from the hamlet of Ponte Cocco to Monte Agugliana. For planning an excursion, you can note the starting point at Ponte Cocco and the destination at Monte Agugliana. The peaks of Monte Calvarina and Monte Bellocca are also located in the area around Pantiere. Those interested in nature can distinguish between different types of excursions: the lake is suited to walks and relaxation, while the trail follows a route from Ponte Cocco to Monte Agugliana; Monte Calvarina and Monte Bellocca are located in the area around Pantiere. Anyone planning a day in nature with walks and relaxation can choose Lake Montorso as the main focus; for a route with a fixed start and finish, the Sentiero Natura is the appropriate choice.
Castles, museum and regional panoramas
The Castello d'Arzignano and Castello della Villa castles are located in the immediate surroundings of Pantiere. The Castello della Bellaguardia castle and the Tessaro Museum are also located in the area around Pantiere. In the wider region around Pantiere, there are two viewpoints: the Panorama dal Piazzale della Basilica di Monte Berico and the Punto panoramico “Castello”. For an excursion, the castles and the museum can be noted as cultural destinations, and the viewpoints as panoramic destinations. For those interested in culture, this selection can be made according to preference: historic buildings and the museum on the one hand, panoramic viewpoints on the other.
