Albettone turns its attention to historic buildings, the Bisatto Canal and a lively festival tradition.

Culture among villas and churches

Villa Campiglia in Albettone, in the province of Vicenza, is a historic building dating from the 15th century and a Neo-Gothic reconstruction of an original villa from the same period. On the ground floor, a hall frescoed around 1560 by Giovanni Antonio Fasolo has been preserved from the older villa. For visitors interested in culture, this creates a tangible picture of architectural history, reconstruction and preserved interiors, without reducing the villa to a single era. The Neo-Gothic reconstruction points to a later alteration, while the frescoed hall preserves an element of the older complex.

Villa Ricci Manfredini in Lovolo di Albettone bears the names Villa Erizzo Schiavinato and Ca’ Brusà and dates from the 15th century. The Church of San Michele in Lovolo already existed in the 16th century. Villa Prosdocimi, also known as Ca’ Giustina, is an eclectic building on the slopes of Monte Castellario and was created by renovating older buildings in the 19th century. In Lovertino, the small Chiesetta dei Santi Vito e Modesto can be traced back to the year 753. The villas, the Church of San Michele and the Chiesetta are spread across Albettone, Lovolo di Albettone and Lovertino; their dates range from 753 to the 19th century.

Bisatto Canal and riverside paths

The Bisatto Canal crosses Albettone and is an old transport route that was excavated around the 12th century. The Colombara is a tower on the Bisatto Canal in Albettone that has survived to this day. During Venetian rule, it served as a watchtower for the port of Albettone. For active day planning, the Itinerario del Bisato follows the left riverbank to Albettone and then connects with the E2 – Anello dei Colli Euganei. This combines historical orientation with an active day-out idea. In Albettone, the Bisatto Canal thus combines its function as a transport route with the surviving tower and the history of the port.

Regional cuisine and a set date

The Sagra delle Rose brings a clear culinary connection to Albettone. During the festival, Panin Onto, a typical menu and the famous Torta delle Rose are offered every evening from 7 p.m. The Sagra delle Rose returns to Albettone; for 2026, it has been announced as a five-day event from 1 May to 5 May in Piazza Umberto I. In Albettone, the announced period links the festival venue, Piazza Umberto I, with the evening offerings of the Sagra delle Rose.
