Villa Del Bene: History and Contemporary Art

A prominent cultural landmark is Villa Del Bene in Volargne. Its portal dates from the 16th century and is attributed to the architect and urban planner Michele Sanmicheli. The portal itself therefore has a clear historical connection, which continues inside the villa.

The central hall contains a cycle depicting the Apocalypse, while three side rooms show further scenes from the Old and New Testaments. The loggia also features pagan-influenced and hermetic themes. The biblical depictions and the themes of the loggia are located in different areas of the villa.

Villa Del Bene also includes a contemporary art gallery. On two levels, there are rooms for the permanent collection and for temporary art exhibitions. The gallery adds an area for contemporary art to the villa. Another historical feature is the preserved sacristy of San Martino: it consists of the presbytery of the former medieval church.

Rafting and Kayaking on the Adige

A rafting descent on the Adige passes through the landscapes of Valdadige and the spectacular Ceraino Canyon. Visitvaldadige's rafting base is located on Via San Martino in Volargne. The rafting route connects the river with the two landscapes of Valdadige and the Ceraino Canyon.

During the kayaking experience on the Adige, participants can steer the kayak themselves while also experiencing the landscapes of Valdadige and the Ceraino Canyon. Visitvaldadige's base for the kayaking experience is likewise located on Via San Martino in Volargne. Steering the kayak independently creates a different focus from the rafting descent.

Museum, Zoo and Historic Sites

Museo dell'olio, a museum, is located in the vicinity of Volargne. Parco Natura Viva, a zoo, is also nearby. Other sites include Falesia Mitria as a ruin, Castello Scaligero as a castle and Padri Redentoristi as a monastery. The historical references are thus spread across a ruin, a castle and a monastery.

Waterfall and Peaks in the Surrounding Area

Parco delle Cascate, a waterfall, is located in the vicinity of Volargne. Punta di Naole, a peak, is also nearby.
