Dolcè combines the landscape of the Adige with cycling routes, gorges, woodland and distinctive historic sites. Those choosing a holiday apartment in Dolcè can tailor their stay to a range of interests: rafting and canoeing take centre stage on the Adige, while paths through vineyards, orchards and forests offer different perspectives on the municipality. Forte Ceraino, Villa Del Bene and Bosco dei Poeti are additional highlights for days devoted to culture.

Holiday apartment in Dolcè between the Adige and nature

The Chiusa di Ceraino is a narrow gorge where the Adige runs between Monte Pastello and the hills of Rivoli. From there, impressive views open up across the valley. The section of the Adige in the Dolcè area is considered particularly unspoilt and striking, as well as rich in flora and fauna. This riverside landscape and opportunities for observing nature add a distinctive perspective to Dolcè’s other excursion destinations.

Bosco dei Poeti lies between the main village of Dolcè and the hamlet of Peri. The forest covers 130 hectares and has 12 kilometres of comfortable paths. Bosco dei Poeti displays around 1,000 works by approximately 600 Italian and international artists, as well as poems and drawings. The site therefore combines woodland and art without requiring you to commit to a single holiday theme.

Cycling routes, hiking destinations and activities on the Adige

The CiclAdige-Terra-dei-Forti route through Dolcè is an easy and varied cycling route. It connects sections along the left bank of the Adige with passages through vineyards, orchards and mixed forests of hornbeam and downy oak. The Adige Terra dei Forti cycle path begins in Ceraino and passes the parish church of Dolcè at kilometre 4.5.

For a tour towards the mountains, the Dolcè–Monte Pastello route leads from Dolcè’s main square along CAI Trail No. 236 towards Monte Pastello. Visitors can go rafting and canoeing on the Adige in the Dolcè area. Isola di Dolcè is a landing point for river descents. In addition, the Adigemarathon, an international canoe and kayak race, takes place every third Sunday in October on the section of the Adige in the Dolcè area and attracts hundreds of participants from around the world. The different routes and activities make it easier to plan varied days for travel groups with different preferences.

Forte Ceraino, Villa Del Bene and traces of the past

Forte Ceraino was built by the Austrians between 1850 and 1851 in the municipality of Dolcè on the left bank of the Adige and was originally called Forte Hlawaty. From Ceraino, it can be reached in around 30 minutes via a narrow military road; the road then continues to Forte di Monte. The buildings of Villa Del Bene were constructed in the 15th century and completed by 1560. The loggia contains scenes of the Adige and the Chiusa attributed to Nicola Crollanza.

Riparo Soman, between Ceraino and Dolcè, also points to an earlier past: in 1983, a probably female Bronze Age burial was discovered there. Malga Montarione is a historic site in the municipality of Dolcè, within the Lessinia Regional Natural Park. These destinations give a holiday apartment in Dolcè a special setting among landscapes, art and history.
