In the town centre of Ceregnano are the Chiesa di San Martino Vescovo and the Oratorio B.V. Addolorata on Via Verdi. The Chiesa di San Martino Vescovo is a parish church and, pursuant to Article 12 of Italian heritage protection law, is recognised as being of cultural interest. The earliest surviving references to it concern three notarial deeds drawn up in Rovigo on 26 April 1296. The Chiesa di San Martino Vescovo has a tall, three-part Neoclassical façade.
The Oratorio B.V. Addolorata on Via Verdi in the town centre of Ceregnano is also recognised as being of cultural interest pursuant to Article 12 of Italian heritage protection law.
Several independent points of interest are located along the Canal Bianco. Corte “Le Procurative” is a complex listed as an IRVV villa in Località Procurative, in a bend of the Canal Bianco. Tenuta Stellà, also known as Corte Ferrari-Pizzardo, is a complex listed as an IRVV villa near the village of Lama on the left bank of the Canal Bianco, along the road to Baricetta. Casa Passarella is a complex listed as an IRVV villa on the road along the left bank of the Canal Bianco towards the Adriatic, before the bridge at Gavello.
Lama railway station is located in the municipality of Ceregnano. Regional train 18096 from Lama to Rovigo stops in Ceregnano and allows bicycles to be carried.
Cycling, water and paths through the landscape
Ceregnano is connected to Rovigo by a cycle path along the Adigetto. There is a landing stage for boats on the Canal Bianco in Ceregnano. The landing stage includes an area for outdoor tourism.
The Ippovia Canalbianco riding route runs along wooded riverbanks where the Bosco della Palà is located. The Ciclovia della Felicità offers a shorter route of approximately 25 kilometres via the Ponte di Lama. The tourism project for Ceregnano envisaged five signposted footpaths, including the “Procurative” path.
Ceregnano has a “Percorso della memoria”. Memorial plaques there commemorate massacres during the Second World War. In Pezzoli, a hamlet of Ceregnano, the Museo della Boje is connected with the peasant movement that originated there in 1884.
Events and regional traditions
The Ceregnano in Fiera event took place in 2023 over two periods in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi: from 1 September 2023 to 3 September 2023 and from 8 September 2023 to 10 September 2023. The 2024 edition included street food. At an event held at the museum on 29 March, with entrance at Piazza della Repubblica in Pezzoli, the historical mask of Polesine was commemorated with “Bombasin, Bombasin, tira fora el codeghin”: a bull symbolically made drunk to promote a good harvest.
