Discover Rubano: Holiday Apartment in Rubano Amid Nature and History
A holiday apartment in Rubano takes you to a place where nature and culture exist closely side by side. This character is particularly evident at the Parco Etnografico di Rubano: across more than 7 hectares, a lake, a small woodland and extensive green spaces are combined with examples of rural architecture. Rubano is therefore suitable for planning a trip that combines cultural discoveries with time spent in green surroundings.
Holiday apartment in Rubano between the park and rural culture
The Parco Etnografico di Rubano includes an open-air ethnographic museum. Its features include a farmhouse, a Venetian casone, a barco and a bread oven. The buildings represent typical rural architecture from the early 20th century. The casone is a faithful replica of Venetian casoni from the 20th century; it was built in 1999 and is not an original historical structure, but a historical reconstruction.
The casone also houses a museum of rural culture from the early 20th century. Since 2021, the farmhouse casone has featured an interactive museum tour; the multimedia museum presents the origins and development of the Parco Etnografico di Rubano. The park has three internal routes, which can also be followed at the same time. When choosing your accommodation, you can therefore consider whether you would like to include natural areas, architectural history and a tour of the park grounds in your stay.
Historical Sites with Different Stories
Historical evidence can also be found outside the ethnographic park in Rubano. The Oratorio Frascà was probably built by the Frascati in the 17th century and was first expressly mentioned in 1685. Only the façade of the oratory remains; as it is located in a private setting, it can only be viewed from the outside. This limited viewing opportunity is part of the context of the site and should be taken into account when planning your visit.
The Auditorium dell’Assunta opened in 2001 following the careful restoration of Rubano’s former church dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, on Via Palù. It is located in Rubano’s historic first town centre and is intended as a venue for concerts, theatre performances, meetings, conferences, ceremonies, assemblies, and art and photo exhibitions. The municipal project “Rubano. I luoghi della storia” installs information panels at historical sites in order to raise awareness again of the historical heritage of the local area.
