Due Carrare combines museums, castles and historic buildings with waterside paths, mountains and winegrowing. Several castles and museums are located in the surrounding area, while Pontemanco offers a distinct focal point with its canal banks and mill district.

The Museo del Volo opened on 20 September 1980 and is divided into themed sections tracing the history of flight.

The Castello di San Pelagio, the Museo dell'Aria and the Castello del Catajo are located near Due Carrare. The surrounding area also includes the Villa Malipietro Gosetti detta Villa Alice and Parchetto Mattei park.

Pontemanco on foot and by bicycle

The Borgo di Pontemanco developed as a symmetrical settlement consisting of two village centres on opposite banks of the Biancolino. The embankments along the Pontemanco canal can be explored on foot and by bicycle and partly run alongside the Ciclabile del sale e dello zucchero.

One of the two mill buildings has been preserved in Pontemanco's historic mill district. Among other things, six pits for the gearing and an old granary have been restored.

Buildings with distinctive details

The Abbazia di S. Stefano contains the hanging mausoleum of Marsilio da Carrara, attributed to Andriolo de Santis and created around 1338. Palazzo Tondello has a portico with seven arches on octagonal brick columns beneath a loggia with eleven small arches.

The buildings of Villa Priuli Petrobelli are currently not open for interior visits. However, the villa can be circumnavigated on foot along its exterior, from the façade across Piazza Norma Cossetto and along the surrounding walls to Via Don Tecchio. Villa Priuli Petrobelli was recently attributed to a design by Vincenzo Scamozzi from 1597.

Landscape between the local area and the wider region

Monte Venda is located in the area around Due Carrare. Monte della Madonna lies in the wider regional surroundings of Due Carrare. The natural arch Arco Vallaresso is also located nearby.

Wine and agricultural tradition

Villa Capodaglio is opened to the public by prior appointment for events and wine tastings held by the villa's agricultural business. Villa Dolfin includes the Mincana agricultural estate. It covers approximately 57 hectares, including 18 hectares of vineyards, and produces and sells wine.
