In Belluno, the Porta Dojona leads to the north-eastern corner of the old city walls. It is part of a fortified complex; its inner arch was built in 1289 by Vecello da Cusighe for the bishop and count Adalgerio da Villalta. The Torrione is the only surviving element of the old city walls. Construction began in 1481 under the Venetian rector Perazzo Malipiero and was completed in 1489 by Luca Foscarini.

The Teatro Comunale is also part of the historic cityscape. The building was constructed in the Neoclassical style based on a design by Giuseppe Segusini from 1833 to 1835. The Teatro Comunale features nine stone and bronze busts of Venetian rectors from the 16th and 17th centuries. Palazzo Fulcis acquired its present form in 1776 through the architect Valentino Alpago-Novello: three previously separate buildings were joined together. Inside, Palazzo Fulcis preserves significant stucco decorations from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta dates from the 16th century, while the Palazzo dei Rettori dates from the 15th century. The Museo Civico houses archaeological finds from Belluno's early history and the Roman Empire. At the Museo Etnografico del Parco, permanent and temporary exhibitions show the lives of people in the mountains. Mountains and activities

South of Belluno lie the gentle profiles of the Prealpi del Nevegal. Nevegal reaches an altitude of 1,700 metres and includes coniferous forests and flowering meadows.
