Today, the village of Staggia is surrounded by well-preserved stone city walls, bounded to the northeast by the Rocca. The walls are interrupted by 11 towers: six have a square ground plan, while the others are pentagonal. The walls visible today, with their irregular polygonal layout, date back to the Florentine expansion at the beginning of the 15th century. The development of the fortifications can therefore be traced directly through their form and structure.

The Museo Pala del Pollaiolo houses Antonio del Pollaiolo's painting “Comunione mistica di Santa Maria Maddalena”. The museum is located next to the Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta.
