The seaside resort of Mondello can be reached by car or bus via tree-lined avenues and connecting side roads. Capo Gallo: natural area and trails

Capo Gallo is a particularly unspoilt area with characteristic flora and fauna, geological formations and archaeological heritage. The Riserva Naturale Orientata di Capo Gallo has designated hiking trails and sights open to visitors. The caves in the nature reserve preserve evidence of human settlement dating back to the Palaeolithic period. Villas, buildings and traces of the past

Mondello’s villas also shape the town’s history. Many of the oldest villas date from 1910 and were built according to designs by the Palermo architect Ernesto Basile. Villino Gregoretti was designed by Ernesto Basile in 1924. The former Stabilimento Balneare ex Charleston is an elegant structure built on stilts in the water, with a platform designed by Rodolfo Stualker; the Stabilimento Balneare was completed in 1911–1912.

Villa Tasca features a magnificent polychrome stained-glass window. The Grotta Regina contains inscriptions and drawings dating from the 7th century BC to the 2nd century CE. On the seabed off Capo Gallo lies the wreck of a Carthaginian ship carrying a cargo of amphorae. The Premio Mondello was established in 1975.
