Masseria D'amari: Holiday Apartment, Culture and Hiking Trails

Holiday apartment in Masseria D'amari between culture and nature

Misilmeri's Chiesa Madre was built in 1553; its stucco work by Firriolo dates from the late 18th century, and it also contains works by Vito D'Anna. The Palazzetto della Cultura in Misilmeri hosts conferences, exhibitions and a municipal library.

Culture and rural traditions

At the Museo della Casa Contadina di Bolognetta, the focus is on the processes involved in olive oil, grain and wine production, as well as livestock farming activities. The focus on production and livestock farming leads from Misilmeri's cultural attractions into rural working environments. In this way, sacred art, exhibitions and library operations are complemented by another specific area of interest.

Historic destinations in the surrounding area

Castello dell'Emiro is a ruin in the vicinity of Masseria D'amari. Rooms there were made available for the “Ras al Jazz” event series. Also in the surrounding area are the Museo del Giocattolo e delle Cere Pietro Piraino, a museum, as well as Palazzo Butera and Villa Trabia, both of which are palaces.

Beaches for varied days

Spiaggia Majestic, Spiaggia Roccella and Spiaggia Aspra are beaches in the vicinity of Masseria D'amari. The three waterside destinations complement the historic and cultural sites with a distinctly different way to spend the day. This means the options range from museum and palace visits to time at the beach.

Hiking trails with different focuses

The “Cascate San Nicola e grotta dei briganti” route leads to the waterfalls and an adjacent cave. It is considered short and suitable for everyone. The waterfalls and the cave are therefore on the same route and form a shared hiking destination. Other hiking trails bear the names “BOLOGNETTA CASCATE SAN NICOLA E GROTTA DEI BRIGANTI”, “Cascata San Nicola Bolognetta” and “Cascate San Nicola Misilmeri”. When planning the day, the short route can be considered a separate section between cultural and beach destinations if the waterfalls and adjacent cave can be scheduled as a limited hiking stage alongside sightseeing and time at the beach on one day of the stay.

Access as an important location factor

Masseria D'amari can be reached via a private road branching off the SS121, the Palermo–Agrigento expressway. The country road to the property is only passable in one direction, offers very little and inconvenient maneuvering space, and has no parking nearby. Careful planning of maneuvering on arrival is therefore a specific practical consideration.

Further excursion interests

Parco Monte Catalfano is a zoo in the vicinity of Masseria D'amari. Thus, alongside history, water and trails, an animal-related destination is also available in the surrounding area.
