Monte Mojo can be reached from the area around the sports field via a narrow, gently sloping path. From the summit of Monte Mojo, you can walk around the crater and see the Alcantara Valley from Francavilla to Randazzo, with Mount Etna in the background. This tour combines a volcanic landscape feature with a wide view across the valley.

The Tindari Way also begins with a 22-km stage leading from Moio Alcantara via Malvagna to Montalbano Elicona. The first stage passes through the historic S. Antonino district of Moio Alcantara. The Cuba, a small Byzantine chapel known as a trichora, can be reached via a short detour from the first section. The Tindari Way can be completed entirely independently. Every year, the Tindari pilgrimage attracts hundreds of pilgrims who cross the Peloritani on foot.

Landscape, Festivals and Peach Specialities

The landscape around Moio Alcantara includes vineyards, olive groves and citrus orchards. At the Sagra delle Pesche, participants can sample fresh peaches and culinary specialities made with peaches. Another regular event is the Fiera di Mojo: it is one of Sicily’s oldest livestock fairs and takes place in the last week of September.
