Tyrrhenian Coast and beach

Fondachello is located on Sicily’s Tyrrhenian Coast. In a northeasterly direction, Spiaggia di Fondachello di Valdina beach forms a continuous coastal beach together with Spiaggia di Torregrotta beach. The coastal area therefore extends as far as Torregrotta Beach while remaining closely connected with Fondachello di Valdina. Villa Calcagno Lo Mondo and chapel

Villa Calcagno Lo Mondo is a 19th-century baronial villa that belonged to the Calcagno Lo Mondo family. Inside is the Chapel of San Giovanni Battista, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. Thus, one building brings together the history of the Calcagno Lo Mondo family and an explicitly religious interior.

The chapel formerly served the entire citizenry as a place of worship. After the construction of the Church of San Giovanni Battista, it was used exclusively for private purposes again. The construction of the church therefore marks the transition from the chapel’s former use by the citizenry to its later private use.

Christmas programme in the piazza and church

The programme It's Christmas 2024 scheduled the lighting of the Christmas tree for 8 December 2024 at Piazza S. Giovanni Battista. The event also included a majorette performance and entertainment for children. On 27 December 2024, the concert Note di Natale took place in the Church of San Giovanni Battista. The Christmas programme therefore included both a piazza and a church interior in Fondachello Valdina.

Summer events and five-a-side football

In 2025, ItaloDisco Arena took place as a dance show on the Fondachello seafront. The event transformed the waterfront area into an open-air nightclub, creating a distinctly different atmosphere from the Christmas programme in the piazza and church.

SUMMER MULTISPORT 2026 was organised by a.s.d. SLOWITALY at the Lido Luna Rossa bathing facility in Fondachello. For the 2024–2025 season, Tre G – Fondachello Valdina was one of the venues in Serie D five-a-side football.

Getting there via Messina, Rometta and the SS 113

From Messina, the route initially follows the A20 motorway to the Rometta exit. It then continues along the SS 113 towards Palermo as far as the Fondachello Valdina hamlet. Torregrotta is considered the nearest railway station for Fondachello Valdina.
