Holiday apartment in Condrò: Renaissance façade, frescoes and Peloritani Mountains
Condrò lies at the foot of Monte Cupola in the Peloritani Mountains. The town combines its mountain setting with churches, local history, museums, beaches, viewpoints and a culinary tradition.
Renaissance façade, Latin-cross floor plan and frescoes at Chiesa S. Maria del Tindari
Chiesa S. Maria del Tindari has an imposing Renaissance façade. It is structured by three orders, superimposed pilasters, horizontal cornices and two lateral bell towers. Inside, the church follows a floor plan in the shape of a Latin cross. Three naves, a transept and a square apse flanked by chapels form part of this layout. In Chiesa di Santa Caterina, frescoes by the Filocamo brothers from 1729 decorate the walls; among them is a depiction of the martyrdom of Saint Catherine. The Renaissance façade forms part of the exterior, while the Latin-cross floor plan organizes the interior of Chiesa S. Maria del Tindari.
Santa Caterina and the monastery ruins in the upper part of the town
Chiesa di Santa Caterina is a recently restored 18th-century church in the heart of Condrò’s historic centre. In the upper part of Condrò are the ruins of an ancient 17th-century monastery. Visitors can admire the ruins. Because of its deterioration, the monastery was abandoned and subsequently irreparably damaged by a fire. Thus, restored church architecture and the visible traces of an abandoned monastery offer different historical impressions. The restored church in the town centre and the monastery ruins in the upper part of Condrò are located in different areas of the town.
Roots tourism, museums and Castello di Milazzo in the surrounding area

These destinations broaden the cultural perspective beyond the town’s churches and monastery ruins. For those interested in culture, churches, frescoes, monastery ruins, museums and a castle are the main attractions in and around Condrò.
