Castel Di Tusa combines the sea, striking landscapes and contemporary art. You can vary your day between the coast, artworks, trails and a local festival. The gulf, riverbed, beach and trail provide specific settings for this.

Beach and seaside resort

The small gulf of Castel di Tusa is defined by an impressive cliff. On the Tyrrhenian Sea lies the 0.9-kilometre-long Spiaggia Lungomare, with turquoise water and fine gravel. The gulf therefore represents a striking rocky backdrop, while Spiaggia Lungomare provides the town’s direct connection to the beach. For a day at the beach, its length, surface and water colour offer concrete planning criteria.

Castel di Tusa is an important seaside resort with clear water and a fully usable beach. At Spiaggia Lungomare, there are beach clubs and freely accessible areas. At Spiaggia Lungomare, you can therefore choose between a beach club and a freely accessible area. Both types of beach belong to the same stretch of coast.

Spiaggia Lungomare has a lifeguard service and public showers. In the areas awarded the Blue Flag, access ramps for people with disabilities are installed during the summer season. Parking is available near Spiaggia Lungomare. When planning your schedule, the fact that the ramps are limited to the summer season remains decisive.

Fiumara d’Arte by the river

In the riverbed of the Tusa River stands the 18-metre-high sculpture “La materia poteva non esserci”. It marks the beginning of the modern art route “Fiumara d’Arte”. This starting point connects the river setting with Fiumara d’Arte and establishes a second cultural focus alongside the beach.

The work is a reinforced-concrete sculpture consisting of two parallel elements in white and black. It invites visitors to walk between its two elements.

Fiumara d’Arte is an open-air museum featuring sculptures, land-art installations and interior designs by international contemporary artists.

Trails and stages

The Passeggiata Faraglioni offers views of the sea and rock formations such as Rocca Grande. If you would like to experience the coast beyond the beach, you can plan this trail as a separate section featuring sea views and rocky landscapes. For planning your day, the Passeggiata Faraglioni can therefore be included as a separate trail section.

The Cammino San Felice da Nicosia provides an official GPX track that can be used to follow its stages. The trail can therefore be divided into individual stages during preparation. For planning a multi-stage route, these sections can be considered separately.

A culinary highlight

On 12 August 2024, the XXIX. Sagra del Pesce took place on Via Cesare Battisti in Castel di Tusa. The date also links the festival to a specific location within Castel di Tusa.
