The Chiesa Madre was built in the Middle Ages. The Palazzo Cupane complements the historic setting as a baronial palace built in the mid-19th century. The Chiesa di Maria SS. Annunziata takes us even further back: its origins date to between the 14th and 16th centuries. Inside, it houses a marble statue attributed to or documented as being by Antonello Gagini, created between 1533 and 1534. It also contains a processional fercolo with a wooden depiction of the Annunciation dating from the 17th century.

The Santuario di Santa Maria di Tindari is located on the Rocca, the rocky massif that gives the densely populated centre its name. The interior of the Santuario is carved into the rock and decorated with stained glass. Its current appearance dates from a refurbishment in 1986; during this work, a monumental fibreglass statue of the Virgin Mary by Andrea Trisciuzzi was placed on a high pedestal.

Art, squares and views in the townscape

Piazza dei Leoni takes its name from a monumental fountain with two lions, from whose mouths water flows. A lioness sculpture on the piazza is made of red marble from San Marco and dates from the 15th century. La Mappa dell'Arte transforms the historic centre of Capri Leone into an open-air museum with decentralised exhibitions and installations. The “Muri Parlanti – Street Art Capri Leone” project also includes a mural created by Andrea Sposari in the area in front of the schools in Rocca di Capri Leone.

The Chiesa di Sant'Antonio Abate stands at the highest point of the town and frames a panoramic viewpoint. Its simple marble portal is made of San Marco marble. Parco Urbano Peppino Grasso has walking trails. The park also includes a large open-air auditorium and a small lake inhabited by ducks.

Events, cycle racing and Sicilian cuisine

The Cronoscalata del Leone is a regional cycling time-trial competition that took place on 13 July 2025 in Rocca di Capri Leone. At the Nebrodi Horses Fest in July, three days were dedicated to equestrian sports; the venue was Piazzale delle Scuole. The 2026 summer programme scheduled Sicily Fud Eat Street with food stalls on Piazza Gepy Faranda for 30 July. At the Mare Festival, a show cooking event with tastings of dishes from the sea and mountains was scheduled for 9 August. A fish tasting and Sicilian wines were planned for the second evening of the Mare Festival on 11 August. The Feast of San Costantino was also part of Capri Leone's 2026 summer programme.
