The Church of Sant'Antonio Abate e della Consolazione is probably the oldest church in Aci Bonaccorsi. Its first construction phase is probably dated to the 11th or 12th century. In the first decades of the 18th century, the building was remodelled and possibly extended. Other churches also bear clearly visible traces of the past: 1589 is considered the reference year for the ecclesiastical independence of Chiesa Santa Maria dell'Indirizzo and its elevation to a church of the Blessed Sacrament; it was only in the following century that the Matrice became the parish church. The year 1588 is displayed on the façade of the subsidiary church of Santa Lucia in the Battiati district.

The town's art history includes several distinctive pictorial narratives. A historically significant painting of the Annunciation was created by Vincenzo Sciuto. During the restoration of a painting of the Annunciation, an inscription band was discovered beneath the paint layer. According to the inscription band, Aci Bonaccorsi once had another church dedicated to the Annunciation on the border with Viagrande; at the end of the 18th century, it was the subject of heated disputes. In the Lavina district, the local church also houses the small slate painting “Maria bambina”, entitled “Maria SS. Ritornata”. It has become the focal point of Marian devotion in Lavina.

Festivals, Food and Shared Experiences

The Festa di Santo Stefano shapes the festival calendar with religious and communal moments. These include the unveiling of the image of the saint, a solemn pontifical Mass and a procession through the town centre with the precious statue and the saint's relic. Liturgically, the Festa di Santo Stefano is celebrated on 26 December, and as a major summer festival on 3 August. Typical dishes and sweet treats are prepared and sampled at the annual religious neighbourhood festivals. The “Domeniche di Maggio – Festa di Primavera” adds a craft exhibition to this tradition.

Theatre, Museum and Further Places for Curious Days

The Teatro Comunale Leonardo Sciascia opened on 29 February 2004 and has 350 seats. Access is only possible during the events announced in the calendar. The Biblioteca Comunale Luigi Sturzo has a room for conferences, presentations and other activities. A public astronomical observatory is located in Parco Lucchesi Ramondetta.
