Discover Telti: Churches, Landscapes and Festivals
Accommodation in Telti
Telti is a destination for you if you would like to combine historic sites, archaeological traces, landscapes and local traditions in one trip. The combination of the historic centre, archaeological evidence, nature and local festivals creates various points of interest for shared days on holiday. If you are planning a holiday apartment in Telti, you can focus your days on culture, landscapes and festivals.
Historic Centre, Churches and Living Traditions
At the heart of Telti’s historic centre is the Chiesa Santa Vittoria. The church was built in 1899 in the 18th-century style. The rural church of San Bachisio provides a different historical perspective, dating from the 17th century. The Museum of Sardinian Culture and Nature documents the life of the local community, traditional living spaces, and the animal, plant and mineral worlds. In this way, architectural history, everyday culture and natural themes come together in different places.
Telti has its own customs during Holy Week. Processions in traditional dress take place on the feast days of Saints Anatolia and Vittoria. Local events are also part of the cultural calendar: the Sagra del Mirto is an event in Telti and reached its 31st edition in 2026. Agliola, the threshing festival, is also a local event in Telti. San Bachisio is honoured in May with a communal lunch.
Landscape Between Springs and Wide Views
The Telti area has springs and streams that encourage dense and lush vegetation. Monte Pino rises to 700 metres above sea level and offers views of the gulf, the islands of the archipelago and the Mediterranean horizon. This creates a contrast for your days on holiday between water-rich, green landscapes and the open panorama from the higher elevation.
Archaeological Traces from Many Eras
Granite tafoni hollowed out by natural erosion and used as tombs attest to human use of the Telti area since the Neolithic period (5000–2700 BC). The Telti area contains Domus de Janas, small artificial burial chambers carved into the rock that are attributed to the Copper Age.
Nuraghe Putzolu has an elliptical floor plan with three chambers and a corridor. Nuraghe Lu Naracu Putzolu is located next to the SS 127 at kilometre 9.700 in the direction of Olbia/Telti. It can be reached on foot and by wheeled transport via a partly paved road. In Aratena, Nuraghe La Prexona di Siana originally had three lobes; a keep was connected to three further, triangularly arranged towers. During the period of the Judicati, the nuraghe was used as a prison.
Plan Your Holiday Apartment in Telti According to Your Interests
When choosing your holiday apartment in Telti, you can use your preferred holiday rhythm as a guide: churches, the museum, customs and local festivals favour culture-oriented days, while springs, lush vegetation and the views from Monte Pino provide a focus on the landscape. Those wishing to explore archaeological topics in greater depth will find different examples from several eras in the tafoni, Domus de Janas and nuraghi. If you have different interests, you can give these themes your own priorities and plan your days accordingly.
