Beaches with different characteristics
Li Junchi is a golden beach stretching for more than eight kilometres. From Badesi, Li Junchi can be reached by car or via a footpath of around 20 minutes. At Spiaggia Li Junchi, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking and pedal boating are possible. This allows a beach visit to be combined with various activities without all travellers having to follow the same daily rhythm.
Li Mindi shows another side of the coast: the wild beach is framed by dunes and untouched nature. There is a seaside lifeguard service, toilets, showers and an information point. Baia delle Mimose has shallow water and is considered suitable for families with children. Poltu Biancu lies in wild nature; there is a small refreshment point in front of the beach. Between these beaches, you can therefore find different ideas of what makes a successful day on the coast.
Water, nature and activity
The mouth of the Coghinas River is recognised as a Site of Community Importance (SCI). It provides a habitat for various animal and plant species, including birds as well as carp, tench, eels, mullet and terrapins. Guided boat trips for birdwatching are offered at the river mouth, and a cycle path also runs there. Nature experiences can be combined with an active excursion here.
The coast of Badesi is exposed to the mistral and is considered suitable for windsurfing all year round. Windsurfing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddleboarding and wakeboarding are also offered as water sports in Badesi. Northshore Kite School Sardinia offers kitesurfing, surfing, wing foiling, wakeboarding and stand-up paddleboarding in Badesi and rents out sports equipment. Individual and group courses are aimed at everyone from beginners to advanced participants; there are also training courses for new IKO kiteboarding instructors.
Away from the water, there is also a special way to experience the landscape. Centro Equestre La Rena Bianca offers horseback rides through the Galluran countryside along the wild beaches of the municipality of Badesi, including Li Mindi. Everyone can take part in the rides; beginners are supported by a federal riding guide from FITETREC.
Galluran language and local culture
The Galluran language is still alive in Badesi and is passed down through everyday conversations. A prominent cultural monument is the Chiesa del Sacro Cuore di Gesù. It was built between 1897 and 1900 on the property of Badesi citizen Salvatore Stangoni, consecrated for Catholic worship in 1930 and is now the seat of the parish of the same name in the Diocese of Tempio-Ampurias.
The Carnevale Estivo Badesano originated in 1984. A parade of allegorical floats and masked groups moves along Badesi's main street; typical Sardinian masks are also presented. According to the municipality, the event attracts thousands of visitors and tourists.
The right holiday apartment for your holiday idea
Free shuttle buses connect Badesi with all the beaches in the municipality. There are also bus connections to nearby towns. When choosing a holiday apartment or holiday house, you can therefore consider whether you want to spend your days mainly on the beaches, taking part in water sports and horseback rides, at the mouth of the Coghinas or making cultural discoveries. Badesi offers several clearly identifiable focal points that can be combined into a varied holiday in Sardinia.
